"LeHappy"--I appreciate the maturity of the lyrics, and enjoy the apparent jazz sensibility of the music. The chords are indeed reminiscent of Bacharach/Costello, and the drums add depth and intertest instead of simply a driving beat. I like that this song is so much more than an ordinary "pop" song, and I think it showcases your vocals well. Thank you for this refreshing offering.

4 THINGS:
1. Check out my new song "April" (Byrd/Page) by simply going to my site: geoffbyrd.com and it will play automatically.
2. Here's a girl I met teaching songwriting lessons in my Songwriting Academy. Sophie is only 12 years old but we co-wrote this song together and she was a natural in the studio. She became a client and I produced it for her.

3. I am now accepting singer/songwriter clients for only $40 per hour including writing and recording from A to Z, just like I did with Sophie! Click on "Services" for more information.
4. Here is a song I wrote with my friend Brandan in a new band called Anchored. They just got off tour with Saliva. The song is about to hit the radio waves and I guess it's been playing a little on MTV and VH1 so that's cool. I like the way the song turned out. He wanted to write a song about Texas, so here's what we came up with:

Hey, Geoff - I wanted to respond out here again to say thank you for your insights over the last few years. I've been on one heck of a personal journey, and as you know and can empathize, I'd have it no other way, since all the while, I've been true to what makes me happy, even when that means changing area(s) of my life.
As yo usaid yourself, you're focusing only on what you enjoy in life, and that spells success very clearly. Not just the "success" that many speak of, but a deeper, more fufilling level that many never aspire to, let alone reach.
If I may, I'd like to post a link to my new blog, which will chronicle the journey to publishing my first book, my Autobiography. After all, it was inspired by seeing you with Hall & Oates in August of 2006...What a difference a few years can make, especially when we never stop believing in ourselves, and following our hearts. As cliche' as that might sound, I know that it's TRUE after all.

Thank you Nadya! I LOVE Montreal by the way....it's a great city. One of the best in the world in my opinion. Everyone always treated me great when I was there at the St. Dennis Theater. Truthfully? It was my favorite show ever. They were so fantastic to me. Anyway, thank you...

I am in about the same place you are, although I have not stripped down all the techie stuff in my life, however I do let about 500 emails pile up before I go through it all. Then just push "delete". This summer is started to get exciting. I will have you know that this is the year of the Tiger which I am, so I should have an exceptional year. I have a huge yard and my gardening is my spiritual experience, that and my deep faith in god which is a constant for me. I believe in all religions though and that they are more connected than humans realize. Someone I know of, Pete Wolfe's x college roomey, David Lynch is very much into meditation if you would be interested in his experiences, I am sure he is online like everyone else. I have been making and selling quite a bit of my jewelry as an aside to being an RN. My opportunity to travel nurse again is calling me big time, just can't figure it out right now. There are even jobs in Portland. So, miss seeing you in person, but I somehow through this medium always feel in touch with you. I love you as a person, and by the way, a woman I work with has a huge crush on you and wants to know when you are coming to Detroit? I showed her the picture of us and played your music for her. Answer? You are just a home body really aren't you. I saw John Oates in March in Ann Arbor. He was great, Tanner was his little roadie, and I got to introduce my sister to him.

Aah, Geoff....How the plot thickens...RIP T-Bone indeed...He is very missed to say the least.
Be strong, and clarity is ever-elusive it would appear, as the more we learn about ourselves, the more complicated it gets. That said, onward and forward with simple pleasures is the right Rx.

Hey Geoff!
Even though I don't always respond to your emails, I ALWAYS read them and for some reason this last one really got me thinking.
Each email from you over the past 4 years has been like watching a unique plant evolve and grow, changing through the different seasons of life. Each letter representing a new bloom or fallen leaf, adding shape and structure to the story, bit by bit.
I know we've never met, probably never will and couldn't really be considered friends and yet...
Your magical voice made a connection with me that I am very grateful for. By letting me into your life just a little, I feel I have gained a great deal and am proud to say that in some small way, I know Geoff Byrd.

Happy Easter to you too! Life has been super busy and it is always nice to hear from you. My daughter is now three and is really into music and dance. She loves listening to your voice and it's so awesome seeing her dance to her favorite Geoff Bryd tunes. Congrats on the simplistic move you have made in your life. I'm so jealous. I try so hard to find balance and serenity in my life but I think I have a few years to go before I can truly commit. Children seem to take the front seat in your life and responsiblity hits you square in the face. Anyway thanks for the updates and hope to see and hear from you soon.
