Many challenges for me lately. Latest is health and I have some scary stuff going on. But it is through love and understanding that I will pull through no matter what is going on. Your email was a timely reminder that what is important remains the same.
Much love,

Love you music Geoff. Ever since I heard "Before Kings" and "Silver Plated" on 105.1 The Buzz, I've been a fan. People often as me when I play your CD Anthology in my car who the artist is and I don't hesitate to tell 'em!
Keep up the awesome work. Make Portland proud!

Always wishing you the best - still remember hearing you sing at a CTIA conference a couple of years ago. Your voice and music was captivating and I hope the future brings you back ever closer to the music you love.

Wishing you back a blessed day of happiness and peace. I, like you, like not having all the different places of contact, and some solitude is always good. I love emailing and checking in with you and other good friends, at least one place. Take good care, I am so thrilled with all of your success and clarity of your mind. I'm planning so many things I need to get done and never ever seem to do anything, but one thing I would like to get back to is reading.
I could use a little 'Clarity' myself. Love Always, #1CaliFan Deb
oh p.s. I've made several email attempts w/my neices' parents. One thing is true to this day. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. At my neices age, who knows if she is still looking seriously at her talent...

Hi Geoff,
I had to come to your website to hear your music because I no longer have any of your songs on my mySpace profile :(
At least you haven't totally dropped off the face of the earth I hope you are enjoying a well-needed break from your social networks overload.
Take care,

Geoff -
What a wonderful email you sent out about T-Bone. The last time I saw him - we were both waiting for our cars at Embassy Suites in Portland!! He will certainly be missed by so many. Even though I only met him a few times, I will greatly miss him.
I miss you on FB and Twitter - you had great words of wisdom - but I will look forward to your emails!
Take care,
Nan

Geoff,
I completely agree with you on Simplicity.I have been thinking about how much time I spend communicating via FB, Twitter, Text...What happened to normal communication? The sound of a voice...the writing of a letter? You inspire me to live a Simpler life! RIP T Bone ~Sigh of sadness

Julie, I appreciate what you said about Myspace, but I have thought long and hard about it. I just need to do what is best for me. People will just have to look a little harder I guess. But I am glad you found me. You have been so supportive and kind. Whatever is meant to be will be. Much love.

Thank you SO much my friends. I really appreciate the support and the love. RIP to my good friend and mentor T-Bone Wolk. I got to know him on the Hall and Oates tour and he was incredibly sweet to me. The guy was the best instrumentalist I have ever known. I will miss him so dearly.
I love you T.

Hi Geoff,
I agree with what you said about wasting time on Twitter and Facebook. However, I think you should maintain your MySpace page because that is a music oriented venue and you are all about your music. That is how I found you and your songs. Please keep that in mind.

Hi Geoff, well here you go again! I wish you the best. I know that being around such young energy will totally revitalize you and the changing seasons won't hurt either. I did see you perform at RockBottom and I didn't feel it much either, you were good and so was the band who played after you but you're right, way too much distraction. And like I said, "darn that Black Peter Porter!" I do have video.

UPDATE!
I have decided that the simplicity of life before Facebook and Twitter and texting has once again called my name. I have deleted my Facebook and Twitter acounts to go back to a simpler time for me. I love you all and have had some amazing conversations and support, I just feel I have to get back to basics. I SO appreciate you all. If you would like to stay in touch, please sign up where it says join the email list on this site. I am keeping my email and phone the same.
I will also likely be taking a break from playing live for a while to clear my head and find the right venue and situation. Thank you for your support and patience and for coming to see me of late. I SO appreciate you.
I will be focusing on private events and house parties for the sake of intimacy and a real connection. No amps, no mics....just a guitar, some friends and a couch. That's how I'm going to roll from now on other than a few charity events and special events and concerts ie: opening for Stevie Wonder which might happen again soon.
Much love, clarity and appreciation my friends.

Hey Geoff,
Love, love, LOVE your music... so talented. Saw you in Vancouver with Hall & Oates and you left a lasting impression (obviously). Any chance of you coming back to play somewhere in Vancouver? GB - I've followed your journey from days of Americana and nights at the Dublin to the new Songwriting Academy. It's good to see that more and more bits of your vision keep coming together. In your efforts to fuse your passions for music, learning, and young people, you might also want to explore a motivational/inspirational school assembly approach. You know what kids need to hear and you know how to make it happen - you walked the talk and followed your dreams. Keep goin' for it, my old friend.

Thanks Mike. I am happy for the first time in a LONG time doing this music thing. I'm just playing a couple shows a month, making the music I want to make. Working on a new acoustic themed record now with some new songs I like a lot.
I am not really interested in the whole major label thing. I am writing some songs for movies and TV and other artists as well. Things are good for me actually. I am enjoying the moment instead of worrying about what is next. HUGE difference.
Going to do some teaching and go back to work as well. Things are finally in balance after years of well, not being in balance. Thank you for caring and I am glad you dig Parasol (still one of my favs from the catalogue). Cheers mate! Thank you Lowry Agency and Des too. Much love,

For the love of @!#$ you are booking yourself out at less than your worth. You need someone to put in perspective a la PR and selling you for what you have done. Have no idea why your not signed to major label. Direction required. You can continue to climb the mountain in this very different music scene. Taking a breath so you are able to take correct path would serve you well. Wish you luck, continue to make your own!
Mike Kav
November 9, 2009
Do you now own all your songs? Would like to propose Parasol as a demo for someone. it's still your most overlooked song but will be a hit for someone. Told you so when you toured with Daryl & John but don't think it registered. It's all about someone seeing through the forest through the tree's and knowing what sounds good and sells.

Thank you my friends. I am glad people are liking the new CD even with the drastically new sound. It was the most fun I have ever had making a CD because I took chances and just let go. I wasn't as in control instead I just let the moments happen. I even left in many happy accidents and just went with it. Zen and the art of making music I guess. A new and relaxing approach.

I must say, as a "mature" longtime follower, I think this piece of work is my favorite. You aren't trying to fit into some pop/Cool Police mold (well said BTW)
It probably shocks some of the Candy Shell/Hall and Oats folks, but I love this. (Good housework music)
Keep the soulful stuff coming, I'll keep supporting, and...um, cleaning my house?

This is a workout CD. My favorites are Crazy Go Mainstream, Cool Police (laughing hard), Bullet Tracer, Miami, Byzantine and Semantics (No one does ballads the way you do). This has nothing to do with X-Ray Vision but When It Snows is da bomb. Glad you are letting the yang fly and doing you. Loving it.
Anna Aspin
July 24, 2009
Okay, jealousy is my favorite. G, I love to dance and I got down to that song. Byzintine has a bite your bottom lip, give you bedroom eyes feel. Next would be the Phoenix and last... Elusive Butterfly. So there you have it. I am happy for you and will continue to tell my friends about the album.
Sara
July 24, 2009
Okay, so "Crazy Go Mainstream" is my absolute favorite, so far. I just adore the politics of it. My curiosity is fucking killing me about "Holly Would."
The whole thing is great. Another gem added to your catalogue. Mostly, I love the fact that each album is a brand new experience. The yang definitely suits you. =)

I am happy Karen, thanks for noticing. Feels good to release a record and let it go. D Nic, there will be plenty of people that feel the same way but I just had to follow my heart. I always wanted to make a record like this but frankly didn't have the balls to do it until recently. I will always come back to the ballads and melodies. But I had to get a little dirty with this one and I like it.
Thanks for sharing your favs and feel free to interact on twitter on my home page too. Much love y'all...Cheers!
